A Moment to be Remembered
for Violin and Piano
Program Notes
A Moment to be Remembered captures the idea of a cherished memory we hold dear but must ultimately release for the greater good. The piece illustrates this theme through two distinct movements, each showcasing a unique style. These movements symbolize the joyful memory rooted in simple compositional techniques and the transition to new creative horizons.
The first movement, "Introspective," reflects a deeply personal journey. Here, I explore my voice and style, embodying the romantic essence of a traditional violin sonata. In contrast, the second movement, "Extrospective," represents a departure from my established compositional roots. This movement embraces contemporary modes and dissonances, signaling the beginning of a new chapter in my musical evolution.
